Red Hill Road Realignment Project:

May 6, 2020 - We received the final approval from CDOT to begin work on the Red Hill Road Realignment project. We will be closing the trail access and the commuter parking on May 18, 2020. This closure will last approximately four to six weeks (until the project is completed.) We are currently working on getting the word out to all of the different user groups, so please share this information with anyone you think might be interested. We will be placing our changeable message board over at the parking lot today or tomorrow. We will also have bilingual project information and maps of available alternative commuter parking areas at a temporary kiosk in the parking lot. In addition, we have asked CDOT to put the upcoming closure information on the permanent message boards east and west of the SH-82/SH-133/CR 107 intersection. If CDOT allows the use of their permanent message boards, the Red Hill messaging may be preempted by other important messaging for the region.
As a reminder, these closures are necessary for safety reasons as the entire project area will be very active and hazards may exist until the project is complete. There will be no safe way for folks to park or access the trails either during working hours or after construction has been wrapped up for the day. If you or anyone else has questions about the project, please direct them to kschorzman@carbondaleco.net or (970) 510-1217.
